Maruf Economics Journal Call for Papers for the 1st Issue July 15th – September 15th

“TOWARDS A MARUF ECONOMICS”

In the first issue of Maruf Economics Journal, it sets out with the search of the possibility of “A Maruf Economics”. Studies from all social sciences will be accepted; especially economics and Islamic economics, which bring in depth, qualitative, field studies, philosophical inquiries and insights about what a Maruf economics means, and what axioms and functional mechanisms it contains.

The necessity of a new economic system is being discussed from the perspective of academics, social scientists and practitioners within many fractions. Maruf Economics Journal aims to contribute to the effort to produce studies for this call by revealing the “Maruf Economics” proposition and conceptualization. The conception of a “Maruf Economics” requires that all concepts related to economy be redefined and reorganized within this understanding. So according to this vision; all concepts such as morality and economy, environment and responsibility, ownership and trust, labor and right, capital and risk will be redefined and they will find their meaning within these forms of relationship. Arranging the economic structure according to the priority of the welfare of society is one of the most important constituents of a “Maruf Economics”.

Maruf Economics Journal primarily prioritizes teaching, understanding, development and conceptualizing the studies of Islamic Economics at an academic level. In addition, Maruf Economics Journal aims to introduce an alternative, original and innovative approach into the existing literature that offer a critical perspective against the domination of conventional economics.

Maruf Economics Journal aims to include academic studies in the field of Islamic economics, but is also open to heterodox approaches in the field of Economics and conventional economics with criticisms of the conventional economic system and its theory. Within in this scope, it is also planned to be published that empirical and theoretical studies, field survey, economic methodology, history of economic thought, simulation-based analysis, studies on relationship of economics with other disciplines and issues like sustainability and development and schools of economic thought like behavioral economics, neuro-economics, experimental economics and new institutional economics that offer new perspectives for the economic and social matters.
